Assignment #7 Redo

these pictures were satisfactory because the pictures i took turned out really well but apparently my camera had some weird focus setting that my dad put it on when he was using the camera and so when i went to take pictures some of the pictures turned out blurry, but i love the pictures of aspen and klain. and of course neil makes the best facial expression ever. i love shooting potraits its always soo fun to catch peoples emotion and how they feel.

Final Project

this assignment was extremely dissapointed. i for one am a person who likes to procrastinate but for this assignment i didnt procrastinate, i started early and took a LOOOOTTT of pictures yet very few came out decent. and i couldnt even take metaphoric pictures of parkour. i just found out that action assignments are extremely hard to take and extremely hard to execute, maybe i'll try it again another year. but for now. im staying with stagnant objects

assignment #6 Portraits

these are my portraits. at first when i started to take pictures of people nothing really nice showed up. out of about a 100 pictures my that one picture of my dad was successful everything else didnt seem as good. then when i woke up at 5 a.m. for a birding trip i took my camera and started taking candid shots of my friends and this turned out to be a huge success so for portraits i would say rather than taking set up pictures i would take pictures when people are not aware of me taking pictures.

final project

for my final project, i am going to go to an area around downtown to take pictures of buildings of the salt like library, get some cool shots at different angles and maybe get a few shots with reflections that come off the glass, so for my final project i am going to take pictures of architecture i think its a good idea so because there are always plenty of buildings and plenty of unusual looking ones too.

Assignment #5 On your belly!

the shot of these stairs is my favorite shot from the "on your belly" assignment, i got this idea when i was shooting the "night" assignment in film photography. back then i saw this cool shadow that shows the stairs descending into darkness. i thought it was extremely cool so i got my pentax camera and got a tripod and shot it. i did all the developing and the picture turned out to be amazing. i loved it. then i figured out that the camera is facing down so it could be like im on my belly looking down onto something. so i tried for the same great shot i took back in the film class. i got most of what it looked like, but its not perfect..






overall, i didnt like this assignment, i would say only some things are required to be shot on your belly to get a decent or good looking shot. not everything shot on your belly or your back will turn out good. thats why this assignment was pretty hard for me. i couldnt find much of the right thing to shoot that would look good on my belly.

Assignment #4 high key/low key

this white mouse was shot on a white cardboard slip. this is probably the second best one of the high key/low key pictures i shot. i find shooting high key is a lot harder than low key because i have trouble finding white stuff where i can put onto a white backround and also place in good light.


these are my black logitech speakers. this is the best one of my pictures in the high key/low key assignment. this is much better than my white mouse high key one because for me, when i am shooting low key i figured out that you dont always need to find the best light because if its a little to dark then it could look a lot more sharp, mysterious, and sometimes even more interesting.




this one was interesting to shoot because this mac mouse isnt completely black, it it first clear, then has a black inside. so i figured hey, this might turn out really cool if i can shoot the clear mouse w/ a black backround. but if i shot it from any other angle, it was hard to distinguish the clearness. so i had to shoot it from a birds eye point of view, but then i found out you could see a bit of a glare, but figured it was something i had to deal w/

i promise to bring my stuff next time so i can work on it

over spring break i took pictures of a black remote on top of a black surface and i also bracketed it to find the perfect exposure without using lightroom. I also took pictures and bracketed pictures of a black pen on top of a black surface, pictures of eggs on top of a white plate, i folded up a piece of paper into the shape of a plane and put it on a white surface and took more pictures, i got my white mac mouse did the same with that, got my black keyboard put that on a black mat and took even more pictures, and that was all the pictures that i took.

High Key/Low Key

this is a low key of my umbrella that is usually on the studio lights. i basically did the same thing that i did here as i did on the one i did above, but instead of making the "fill light" brighter i got the "blacks" bar and changed that up to get that extra tint of blackness which completes the photo.



this is a high key of my nintendo wii. i barely changed the exposure, but put the fill light bar up a bit to create the whiteness of the photo.

Low Key

this picture was of white on white but the white of the lights sorta blacked out the whites of the backround so you cant see the backround very well. so i changed the exposure so my picture is brighter but only by a tad bit, i didnt change the "recovery" or the "lights", but i did change the blacks up by 35. to create the darkness around the lights so you cant see the surroundings very well but so your attention focuses around the lights.

Assignment #2

I got a decent exposure so i barely had to change it,
but i did use the fill light quite a bit. nothing else changed.
